Lower Chittering – Safety & Place Activation Project
Help us design a safer, more welcoming community space in Lower Chittering!
The corner of Muchea East Road and Santa Gertrudis Drive is a busy local meeting point for residents, school families, farmers, commuters and community events — and now it’s your chance to help re-imagine it. Community feedback has highlighted concerns about speeds, sightlines and safety, as well as a lack of space for people to safely gather. The Streets Alive project is about improving safety and creating a place that feels welcoming, creative and uniquely Lower Chittering.
Get involved, get creative and have your say.
Stage 1 is all about ideas — how the space should work, look and feel. Join us in March for pop-up sessions at the site to share your experiences, sketch ideas, suggest artwork themes and help shape a space that reflects the local community. The project architect will be onsite on Thursday 19 March, so this is a great opportunity to talk directly with the designer and influence the vision from the very beginning. Your ideas will guide the designs that the community will review and vote on in May, featuring local art created with residents and the nearby school.
