Shire of Chittering's New Vision

A community that values its people, supports local growth, and protects our rural character.

As part of developing the new Council Plan, Council recently workshopped the Shire’s long-term vision and mission for the next 10 years. You told us what was important in the recent community engagement and we feel we listened.

Late 2025 our staff worked together to create some visions from all our community feedback. The community engagement was at the heart of all options, with key words and outcomes coming directly from our communities shared thoughts.

Four vision options were presented to Council, and together they refined this style on one as a group, with only minor wording changes.
Our agreed vision and mission are:

Vision
A community that values its people, supports local growth, and protects our rural character.

Mission
To plan, lead and deliver services and infrastructure that support livability, resilience and opportunity for the Chittering community.

This vision will guide the Council Plan, flowing through to the Corporate Business Plan and subsequent other Annual Implementation Plans.
