Each year, the Shire of Chittering recognises property owners who go above and beyond to keep their properties bushfire-ready through our Firebreak Fridays Competition.

Starting Thursday, 16 October 2025, Fire Control Officers will be conducting inspections and nominating one standout property each week. All weekly winners will go into the draw for a chance to win a Makita 18Vx2 Brushless Loop Handle Line Trimmer Kit, valued at $789.

How it Works

• Inspections begin Thursday, 16 October 2025.

• Each week, one property will be selected as the Firebreak Friday Winner.

• Winners will be featured on the Shire’s Facebook page.

• To qualify, firebreaks must be fully compliant during the initial inspection. Properties requiring improvement will not be eligible.

• All weekly winners will be entered into the grand prize draw, with the overall winner announced on Friday, 19 December 2025.
