Planning and Development Act 2005
Shire of Chittering Local Planning Framework
Report of Review Available for Inspection
Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Chittering has completed a review of its local planning framework, comprising the Local Planning Strategy, Local Planning Scheme No. 6 and associated local structure and development plans.
The Western Australian Planning Commission has considered the Shire's Report of Review and agrees with the recommendations of the report that:
- the Local Planning Strategy remains contemporary and fit for purpose and does not require review at this time;
- Local Planning Scheme No. 6 be repealed and replaced by a new Local Planning Scheme No. 7 that incorporates the recommendations of the Local Planning Strategy and is consistent with the Model and Deemed Provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015; and
- the completed review of local structure and development plans be recognised, noting obsolete plans have been removed from current display and active use, and the remaining approved plans are current and fit for purpose.
The Commission also noted that the Shire intends to progress an omnibus amendment to Local Planning Scheme No. 6 to address discrete administrative matters and continue its review of local planning policies.
The Report of Review and the Western Australian Planning Commission's decision are available for inspection below:
