The Shire of Chittering hereby gives notice that Council at its Ordinary meeting held 18 March 2026 resolved to adopt for public advertising the draft amended Local Planning Policy No.1 – Sea Containers.
The amendments to the Policy capture sea container-based structures (container- based dome structures) and small improvements to clarify the intent of the Policy. The draft amendment responds to practical assessment issues encountered by the Shire when considering composite container-based structures that are not expressly addressed by the current policy wording.
Documents setting out and explaining the policy are available between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday up to and including Monday 13 April 2026 at the Shire’s Administration Centre and on the Shire’s website: chittering.wa.gov.au.
Submissions can be made on or before 4:30pm, Monday, 13 April 2026 by:
