Past Event


The 2023 Wheatbelt Trails Forum will focus on preparing local business and community to become ‘trail ready’, how to leverage your trail listings on Trails WA to appeal to the visitor market, as well as an industry update on the trails and outdoor sector.

This forum is hosted by Trails WA and DLGSC (Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries).

On the day you will hear from three key speakers:

1) Steve Bennett, Senior Policy Officer - Outdoor Recreation, DLGSC will provide an update on the industry sector as well as the Bindoon MTB trails.

2) Kelvin Barr, Trails Office, Shire of Murray will present on Dwellingup's strategic journey to becoming a successful Trail Town.

3) Kym Gibson, Managing Director, Adventure Connections will discuss her experiences in building a successful tourism business in a small town.

 

In addition, there will be two workshops, hosted by the team at Trails WA:

1) Business Ready Workshop - Scott Drysdale (Deputy Chair, Trails WA) & Katie Stevens (Marketing Officer, Trails WA): Finding your foothold within the Trails Tourism space | Leveraging your local assets | What Trails WA can do for you.

2) Becoming a Trail Manager - Tiffany Watson (Social Officer, Trails WA) & Katie Stevens (Marketing Officer, Trails WA): Logistics: Getting your trail on Trails WA | The good, bad & ugly of trails | Marketing your trails.

 

There will be opportunities to network with key speakers and industry stakeholders over lunch at the end of the forum.
