The Shire of Chittering winter unrestricted burning time commences on Monday 1 June 2020.
A Shire permit to burn on your property is not required during this time.
The spring restricted burning time commences on 1 October 2020 (this date may change due to weather and dryness conditions).
For the protection of the community, please take care when carrying out any burning activity.
Please minimise smoke nuisance to neighbours by not burning green or wet vegetation, general rubbish and waste must not be burnt at any time.
Ensure the wind direction does not cause smoke to drift over roads causing a hazard to passing traffic.
It is an offence to cause a smoke nuisance to persons and to cause pollution with excessive smoke.
