On 10 October 2019, The Western Australian Planning Commission resolved to endorse the Local Planning Strategy for our Shire. This comes after five years of drafting and seeking feedback from the community.
This strategy will set the standard for consolidating development to appropriate areas within the Shire. It also provides for much needed clarity on bushfire linkages, industry development, tourism and environmental conservation to name a few. Ultimately it provides both the community and investors with confidence, while allowing our Shire to prosper.
While the strategy is targeted specifically for Chittering, it remains a state government document, with any changes requiring their endorsement first and foremost.
