The Restricted Burning Time commences on 1 October 2019. From this date, all burning within the Shire of Chittering will require a permit. This includes the burning of one square metre piles of garden refuse. To obtain a permit, please contact your local Fire Control Officer, details of which are in the Firebreak & Bushfire Hazard Reduction Notice 2019/20.
Further to this, please note that burning is prohibited on any day when:
- The fire danger index reaches VERY HIGH, SEVERE, EXTREME or CATASTROPHIC
- A Total Fire Ban has been declared
