The Restricted Burning Time commences on 1 April 2021. From this date, all burning within the Shire of Chittering will require a permit.
Due to the current dry summer conditions, permits to burn will only be issued to farmers for stubble burning deemed necessary for agricultural purposes.
Issuing of permits to burn for the burning of garden refuse and the bush will not be issued until there is a significant change in overall conditions.
To obtain a permit, please contact your local Fire Control Officer, details of which are in the Firebreak & Bushfire Hazard Reduction Notice 2020/21.
Further to this, please note that burning is prohibited on any day when:
- The fire danger index reaches VERY HIGH, SEVERE, EXTREME or CATASTROPHIC
- A Total Fire Ban has been declared
