www.atasteofchittering.com.au

Chittering’s annual A TASTE OF CHITTERING festival returns to the picturesque Nesci Estate Wine Farm on October 17 and 18, just an easy 45-minute drive north-east of the Perth CBD.

An eclectic and diverse program will showcase the local food, wine, beer, produce, and art of the Chittering region with market stalls, pop-up dining, cooking demonstrations, live music and family entertainment.

This year, exciting new additions to the program include guided electric bike tours where guests can soak up Chittering’s green rolling hills and valleys, fragrant citrus orchards and stunning Spring wildflowers.

A beer brewing competition - A SIP OF CHITTERING – is a new initiative open to all amateur brewers, with the winning beer made in a batch for release by Outback Brewing Co.

Thousands of food lovers, families, locals and day-trippers are expected to visit Nesci Estate across the weekend, with gates opening at 10.00 am each day (to 5.00 pm on Saturday and 3.00 pm on Sunday).

The event program is now online at www.atasteofchittering.com.au, with additional epicurean ticketed events announced soon.

Highlights of the main program include:

New to the 2020 program is A SIP OF CHITTERING - a homebrewed beer competition open to all amateur brewers. Competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards the hunt is on for the best local brew that meets the brief (either through ingredients or style) of ‘a beer for Perth’s countryside’. Entry is free, with individuals allowed up to ten entries in different beer styles.

Brews will be judged by a panel as a key event on the main stage based on aroma, appearance, flavour and overall impression.  The winner of the Gold award will be awarded a trophy along with a small batch of their winning brew produced by The Outback Brewing Co, set to be released at Fremantle Beer Festival in November 2020.

Electronic entry forms must be received by October 12 and brews by October 14.  For full terms, conditions, guidelines and entry forms visit the website www.atasteofchittering.com.au.

Guests will be treated to live entertainment across the whole festival with a range of roaming performers and music acts. Libby Hammer’s spectacular Wildflower Stilt Walkers will appear from 12.00 to 2.00 pm on both days.  Live local musicians from Bindoon Entertainment Arts Theatre will perform across the weekend.

COUNTRYSIDE MARKETSTALLS

Showcasing vendors from the local Chittering community and surrounding regions, the Countryside Marketstalls will exhibit unique and special goods from arts and crafts, to beauty, clothing, homewares and more.

Guests can browse for mosaics, knitting, handmade cards, essential oils, skincare, candles, timber works, jigsaws and even something to take home for four-legged friends.
