TEMPORARY FINANCE MANAGER

The Chittering area is known for its friendly community, natural recreational opportunities, picturesque countryside, local produce and wine, ideally placed within an hour's drive of Perth.

The Shire is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Finance Manager.

The successful appointee will be responsible for:

  • Ensure compliance of statutory finance functions.
  • Annual Budget Preparation and implementation once the budget has been formally adopted
  • Coordinate Annual Financial Audit
  • Maintenance of all registers including the acquisition and disposal of assets
  • Provision of monthly departmental financial reports and interpretation
  • Overseeing and completion of all end of month finance processes
  • Maintain Reserves register including allocation of interest
  • Preparation of ATO lodgement and approval on behalf of the Executive Manager Corporate Services
  • Oversee creditor, debtor and payroll functions including provision in the capacity of a senior officer
  • Oversee Grant Acquittal process
  • Supervision Finance Staff

The successful appointee must be an adaptable, experienced finance manager with local government experience. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV and covering letter that they meet the following essential criteria:

  1. Experience in Finance Management Role, including supervision of staff within the Local Government Sector.
  2. Advanced finance skills with proven communication and negotiation skills.
  3. Proven computer literacy and organisational skills.
  4. Knowledge of relevant finance legislation, practices and processes.

This position is offered as a 3 month fixed term contract, working a 76 hour fortnight, with a cash salary of $88,920 per annum pro-rata.
