Application form

An Application for Advertised Vacancy form should be completed (if not applying online) and attached to your application.

Covering letter

While many advertisements do not require selection criteria to be addressed, we still evaluate your application against the required skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications as listed in the Position Description. Therefore a covering letter must be provided to briefly outline these points.

Statement addressing the selection criteria

The selection criteria includes the skills, knowledge, experience and (if required) qualifications of the position. They are listed in the Position Description under the “Requirements” heading.

Your application should contain a brief statement addressing the selection criteria, with examples that demonstrate how you meet each of these requirements. It is also recommended that you ask another person to review this statement as you might forget or underestimate a particular experience or example that best illustrates how you meet the criteria.

It is strongly suggested that you use each of the selection criteria as a heading and outline your relevant experience separately against each one, as it is better to be concise and relevant rather than wordy.

This should provide personal details (e.g. name, address, and contact number), relevant work history, education, training courses attended, qualifications and professional membership.

Photocopies of your qualification(s) or academic records of current studies should be attached to your application. Please do not submit originals.

You should include the names and contact details of at least two work referees who can provide information on your work performance. Preferably one referee should be your current supervisor or manager; alternatively a supervisor/manager from a previous position may be used.
