Aged and Disability

The Shire of Chittering has a strong commitment to providing positive services for the Aged and Disabled. After recent Community consultation and other relevant enquiries the Council is currently undergoing a review of the Aged Care and Disability services available within the Shire. We hope to be able to offer increased dedicated services in the near future.

Seniors Week & Activities

As part of the 2019 Seniors Week (11-17 November), the Shire of Chittering is working with the Chittering Health Advisory Group (CHAG) to bring a week of activities to our community.   These activities are supported by COTA WA, the Department for Communities, Lotterywest, and Bendigo Bank.

Monday 11th – IHC Storytime & Art:  Jump on the bus and travel to Immaculate Heart College to hear their stories and participate in a range of activities.

Tuesday 12th – COTA WA SENIORS WEEK Active Ageing Bus Tour:  Bus trip to the following places for sessions aimed to keep seniors active as they age.

Wednesday 13th – BPS Intergen Day:  Participate in a range of activities with the students from Bindoon Primary School.

Thursday 14th – Seniors Health Expo:  Service providers and businesses for Seniors and Aged Care in our Community.

Enduring Power of Attorney

An enduring power of attorney is a legal agreement that enables a person to appoint a trusted person - or people - to make financial and/or property decisions on their behalf. An enduring power of attorney is an agreement made by choice that can be executed by anyone over the age of 18, who has full legal capacity.

Enduring Power of Guardianship

An Enduring Power of Guardianship is a legal document that authorises a person of your choice, to make important personal, lifestyle and treatment decisions on your behalf should you ever become incapable of making such decisions yourself. This person is known as an enduring guardian.

Public Trustee

he Public Trustee offers independent, professional trustee and asset management services to the WA community. These include Will and Enduring Power of Attorney drafting, deceased estate administration, executor support, financial administration and trust management services.
We are a statutory body that operates under the authority of the Parliament of Western Australia. The Public Trustee’s fees and charges are regulated by the Parliament of Western Australia.

NDIS Toolkit

Brightwater has developed the NDIS toolkit to help guide individuals with disability and their support network to effectively plan for the NDIS.

The toolkit is for individuals and their families; carers and guardians; as well as health and other human services professionals, and disability service providers.

Funded by the Department of Communities Disability Services, the toolkit will help you register for the NDIS and prepare for your planning meeting by taking out all the guesswork.
