  • Where can I get tip passes from?

    Your Pass will be included within your Rates Notice.  Residents who are renting their property may need to contact their Landlord or Agent.

  • How many passes do I get?
    One pass has been issued per property for each financial year.  If you require additional passes (i.e. you have used your six free entries) they can be purchased from the Shire Administration for $66.00
  • Why do I need a pass?

    Your Pass needs to be presented to verify that you are a local resident/ratepayer.  The following items can be disposed of by residents/ratepayers FREE OF CHARGE and without a limit on the number of visits:

    • drums (on advertised Muster Days)
    • fill (clean)
    • green waste (sorted 'clean', and up to 8x6 trailer)
    • household rubbish (sorted 'waste', 'recyclables', 2x240ltr bins, 1xute or 1x 8x6 trailer per visit)
    • metals (free of debris)
    • recyclables to be placed in designated areas:
      • cans CLEANED (steel and aluminium)
      • cardboard (flattened)
      • glass bottles CLEANED (lids removed)
      • metals (tin, car bodies, fencing wire, etc)
      • newspapers (no glossy magazines)
      • plastic bottles CLEANED (lids removed)
  • Other items accepted

    The following items can also be disposed at the landfill centres:

    • animal carcasses (MUCHEA only)
    • car bodies (BINDOON & MUCHEA)
    • demolition waste *fees applicable (BINDOON & MUCHEA)
    • asbestos *fees applicable (BINDOON only)**

    * Fees are payble to the Shire's Administration Centre prior to attending the landfill centres.

    ** Due to the health regulations with disposing of asbestos you are asked to contact the Shire's Technical Services Department to make an appointment before you attend the Bindoon Landfill Centre.  This appointment will be to discuss the Department of Environment Regulations's requirements.for the disposing of asbestos.  

    Other types of waste may incur Landfill charges, please contact the Shire office on (08) 9576 4600 for further information.

    Please note: special conditions apply to gas bottles and sealed drums, residents must contact the Shire's Technical Services Department prior to delivering these items to landfill.

  • What fees apply to what items?

    Fees will always apply to the following items:

    • animal carcasses
    • asbestos
    • commercial and demolition waste
    • fill (with debris)
    • green waste (unsorted)
    • non-pass holder
    • skip bins
    • tyres (bikes, cars, trucks, tractors, earthmoving)
    • white goods that have not been degassed

  • What are the six numbered boxes on the bottom of the Pass for?

    Your landfill pass will be validated (clipped) upon entry if you wish to dispose of any of the following items:

    • batteries
    • household furniture (couches, mattresses, etc)
    • household rubbish / waste unsorted (2x240ltr bins / 1xute / 1 x 8x6 trailer) per visit
    • oil / filters
    • white goods (noting that fridges, freezers and air-conditioners need to be degassed)

    Residents/ratepayers have six opportunities to enter FREE OF CHARGE to dispose of the above items.
