While the tasks of governing are becoming more complicated the Shire is confident that its record and the quality of its Council representation and staff will, with the support of the community, allow it to address these issues and challenges effectively, efficiently and to the benefit of the community as a whole.

Council's Maxim... Keeping the Balance

Council is well served by the President and six Councillors who spend their time voluntarily in looking at the best interests of the community. The President and Councillors with their wealth of experience and professionalism serve to meet the requirements of the community at all times. They are readily available to ratepayers to handle inquiries, complaints and suggestions.

The Council has shown a willingness to change its decision when it has been convinced that a decision was wrong. It does strive to obtain the views of residents, as far as this is practical, before reaching a decision. Once a decision is made it is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer to see that that decision is implemented, without fear or favour.
