Council Committees
Up one levelSection 5.8 of the Local Government Act 1995 provides that Council can establish committees of three or more persons. At the Ordinary Council meeting held on 21 October 2009 Council adopted the following booklet:

Chittering Bush Fire Advisory Committee
- Our vision is for the Shire of Chittering to have an efficient and responsive fire service as a committee to educate and inform the community of the dangers of fire.

Chittering Support Funding Committee
- To encourage not for profit organisations operating in the Shire of Chittering to submit applications for financial assistance towards projects that will benefit the Chittering community based on an annual budget of $35,000.

Australia Day Advisory Committee
- Our vision is for the Shire of Chittering to celebrate Australia Day on 26 January each year. Council will also use this occasion to recognise important work that volunteers do in our community and to have an annual award ceremony to achieve this.

Chittering Education Scholarship Committee
- Our vision is for the Shire of Chittering to promote lifelong and continuous learning and to provide a forum for assisting education opportunities for the youth of the shire by way of annual scholarships.

Shire of Chittering Audit Committee
- The primary objective of the committee is to accept responsibility for the annual external audit and liaise with the shire's auditors so that council can be satisfied with the performance of the shire in managing its financial affairs.

Chittering Community Housing Tenants Advisory Committee
- This committee will assess low income emergency housing applications as per the guidelines as set by the Department of Housing; and monitor the state and conditions of the units and the tenants occupying the units.
