Dress for Mess for the Chittering Mud Fest!

Media Releases

Wear Ya Wellies is the Shire of Chittering’s annual welcome to winter, free family fun day.  It’s time to whack on your wellies, dress for mess, and head to Edmonds Place Reserve in Bindoon on Sunday, 27 May

From 10am to 2pm you will be able to enjoy all of the mess, mud and nature based activities that we have lined up for this, our fifth, annual Wear Ya Wellies event.   FREE ACTIVITIES include Junior Landcare ‘for kids’, Koorunga CWA’s Welly Throwing Competition, Chittering Wildlife Carers Native Wildlife Display, Lions’ Ride-on Train, CLP Photography’s Selfie Photo Booth, Animal Farm, Face Painting, Fun Airbrush Tattoos, Playgroup WA arts and crafts, Nature Play Zone with Educated By Nature, Animal Ark, and Messy Moments, and the super popular Hay Mud Pit.  Plus, this year we have included a Toddler Mud Pit for the littlest members of the family, and extended the Mini Mud Run.  Free tickets for the Mini Mud Run are available from Eventbrite.  Follow the link on the Facebook event!

The Bindoon Farmers Market, our local monthly community market, will be onsite offering local handmade arts ‘n’ crafts, home grown plants, and fruit ‘n’ vegetables along with a fantastic range of home produce.  Grab yourself a memento of your muddy day, or some treats for the ride home.

Plenty of hot food and drinks will be on hand to feed your “muddy monsters”, along with a large undercover seating area where you can rest your weary wellies.  Remember to bring along a change of clothes as there will be a change station with showers to help at the end of the day.  You may even like to consider purchasing some designed-for-dirt clothing from the Bindoon ADRA Op Shop on your way through.  You might be able to save yourself from some extra washing!

Thanks go to Lotterywest, the Road Safety Commission, Ace Electrical, Muchea Plumbing and Gas, Educated by Nature, Northern Valleys News, CLP Photography, Bindoon Farmers Market, Chittering Youth Krew and all of our amazing volunteers for helping to make this FREE family fun day possible.

And, don’t forget to post photos of you in your most wonderful wellies (before, during and after the event) on the Wear Ya Wellies Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/wearyawellies.
