Wear Ya Wellies is the Shire of Chittering’s free “we don’t care if it rains”, welcome to winter, family fun day.  So, if you are happy to whack on your wellies and dress for mess, Edmonds Place Reserve in Bindoon is the place to be on Sunday 28 May.

From 10am to 2pm you will be able to enjoy all of the activities and entertainment that we have lined up for this, our fourth, Wear Ya Wellies event.  LIVE ENTERTAINMENT can be enjoyed throughout the day… the Scitech Roadshow, Eco Faeries, the magically Amazing Mr Jim and a Dippy Dragon show.  YOU can be part of the entertainment by joining in the Welly Walk, a parade to show off all your weird and wonderful wellies!

Funtastic FREE ACTIVITIES include Junior Landcare ‘for kids’, Solar Viewing by The Space Place, Pony Rides, Koorunga CWA’s Welly Throwing Competition, Chittering Wildlife Carers Native Wildlife Display, Lions’ Ride-on Train, CLP Photography’s Selfie Photo Booth, Cuddly Animal Farm, Face Painting, Fun Airbrush Tattoos, Thrive Sustainability’s Edible Gardens Mini-Workshops, Nature Play Treasure Hunt and the super popular Muddy Maze.  Plus, for the first time, we have added a Mini Mud Run

This year the Bindoon Farmers Market will be onsite at Edmonds Place.  Our local monthly community market will be offering local hand-made arts ‘n’ crafts, home-grown plants, fruit ‘n’ vegetables along with a fantastic range of home-produce.  You can take the opportunity to take home a Taste of Chittering!  Keep an eye out for our Muddy Boot Road, all event attendees will be in with a chance to receive a voucher donated by our SHOP #chittering support LOCAL businesses.

Plenty of hot food and drinks will be on hand to feed your “muddy monsters”, along with a large undercover seating area where you can rest your weary wellies.  Remember to bring along a change of clothes as there will be a change station with shower to help at the end of the day.  You may even like to consider purchasing some designed-for-dirt clothing from the Bindoon ADRA Op Shop on your way through, you might be able to save yourself from some extra washing!

Thanks go to Lotterywest, the Road Safety Commission, Western Hay, Ace Electrical, Nature Play WA and Chittering Youth Krew for helping to make this FREE family fun day possible.

And, don’t forget to post photos of you in your most wonderful wellies (before, during and after the event) on the Wear Ya Wellies Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/wearyawellies.
