Proposed Bridle / Pedestrian Use of Pedestrian Access Ways

Guernsey Rise, Maryville Downs Estate, Lower Chittering

At the Ordinary Council Meeting of 17 April 2014, Chittering Council resolved to support the proposal to use some of the Pedestrian Access Ways, commonly known as the ‘Strategic Firebreaks’, in Maryville Downs Estate for Bridle and Pedestrian Trails.  A section of the Pedestrian Access Way has been subsequently used for this purpose.

The Bridle and Pedestrian Trails approval was to run for a trial period of 12 months (between August 2016 and July 2017).  As this trial period has now ended, the Shire is undertaking a review of the proposal and we request your feedback in relation to the future use of the Bridle Trails.

Pursuant to the Shire of Chittering Local Planning Scheme No. 6 the proposed Bridle/Pedestrian Trail will be advertised for a period of 42 days commencing 22 November 2017.  Any person wishing to make a submission on this proposal must do so in writing to the undersigned on or before 10 January 2018.

The Locality Map is now available from the Shire’s Administration Centre (6177 Great Northern Highway, Bindoon); and will be available for inspection during office hours up to and including 10 January 2018.  The Map is also available on the Shire’s website.
