2018 Banners in the Terrace Competion Winner

Media Releases

The Shire of Chittering during the months of February to March ran a competition inviting local schools, community groups and artists within the Shire to put their creative hats on and come up with a design for the “2018 Banners in the Terrace”.

The Shire offered a prize of $150 to the winning designer.  The competition closed on Friday 6 April 2018, and Shire staff were then given the hard task of selecting the winning design.  After much deliberation the Shire can announce that the winning design was submitted by local student Quinn Zillessen.  Congratulations Quinn!

Below is Quinn's design depicting the Chittering bird sitting in a jarrah tree on a day with a clear blue sky. In the distance you can see a winding road from Perth City which is lit by streetlights.

Quinn’s design will now be transferred onto a blank banner by local artists from the Chittering Art Society.  The finished banner will then be displayed on the Terraces in Perth during Local Government Week 2018.
