CHATTER CHECKIN

Media Releases

Chittering residents are being encouraged to have their say, helping the Shire of Chittering to gauge their communication with residents, with a focus on bushfire preparedness and planning.

Communications consultant Tammy Wayne-Elliot of TWE PR and Marketing said she was impressed at all the ways the Shire of Chittering communicate with their community, and she is currently seeking resident feedback on whether they feel informed of local programs and initiatives.

“There is a survey available online or in hardcopy across the Shire’s facilities, and the local post office, with resident feedback vital to finding out whether the Shire communication is reaching residents, as well as researching the best way to reach the community during bushfire incidents,” Tammy said.
Some of the ways the Shire of Chittering communicates include through articles and advertisements in local newspaper, a monthly page ‘Chatter’, also available electronically and through their social media platforms.

“Residents who submit a survey and are comfortable providing their details will go into the draw for a $100 gift voucher,” Tammy said.

Completed surveys are due by close of business Monday 28 August 2017. If you would like to submit your thoughts online, simply visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/chattercheck. Alternatively, hard copies are available and can be submitted to the Shire Administration Office, Bindoon Library or the Post Office. Alternatively, you can email/scan your survey and send it to chatter@chittering.wa.gov.au. If you would like to mail it, send it to: Shire of Chittering, PO Box 70, Bindoon WA 6502

“It is vital that we receive as much feedback as we can to help gauge the Shire of Chittering’s communication, and help the community prepare for this bushfire season,” Tammy said.

For enquiries, telephone the Shire office on 9576 4600.

The consultation program has been made possible through funding from the Office of Emergency Management “AWARE” program.
