Chittering Fire Services

The Shire of Chittering encompasses an area of 1,220 square kilometers.  The Chittering Fire Service provide fire prevention and suppression service for the area, with the exception of areas under the care and control of Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC), and the gazetted fire districts controlled by the WA Fire and Rescue Service.

The bush fighting district consists of mostly rugged country areas, lakes, rural properties and buildings.

The Chittering Fire Service is fortunate to have five volunteer fire brigades and an incident support brigade who work rostered times 12 months of the year.  The brigades are:

1. Bindoon
2. Muchea
3. Wannamal
4. Lower Chittering
5. Upper Chittering
6. Incident Support Brigade

Members of these brigades are highly skilled and experienced fire fighters.

Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban Notification

Council has implemented a system to advise farmers/businesses/residents of the imposing of Harvest and Movement of Vehicle Bans via SMS message to a mobile telephone.

If a ban has been imposed, all persons registered will be sent a text message advising of details.

Any person wishing to register their mobile telephone number with the Shire of Chittering needs to complete the registration form and return to the Shire of Chittering.
