Chittering Museum
The Museum opened in September 2002 and is located on Great Northern Highway in Bindoon Townsite adjacent to the Shire office.
The museum was donated to the people of Chittering by former residents Toppy and John Dickerson and represents 40 years of collecting with many items relating to the pioneer Glover family of Mooliabeenie.
The collection covers a range of interests from rocks, gems and model cars to kitchen memorabilia, farm implements and tools, collections of car badges, photographs and glassware. There are old irons, oil lamps and a sewing machine. The museum is growing daily by the donation of items of local interest so there will always be something extra to see.
A complete collection of Gaston machinery is also on display at the entrance to the museum.
The museum is vested in the Shire of Chittering and managed by the Bindoon
and Districts Historical Society.
